Enabling you to overcome your cat’s unwanted behaviour.

You want to enjoy a happy, trusting relationship with your cat(s) and for you to lead the best life possible together. You also understand that cats are very sensitive creatures and have specific needs.

However, you are currently experiencing some difficulties with your cat’s behaviour. You may be frustrated or worried that your cat is toileting, spraying or scratching indoors? Being aggressive to people or other cats? Chewing or eating non-edible items? Attention seeking or becoming over-attached to you? Showing fearful, phobic, or repetitive behaviours?

Unwanted behaviours are stressful for you and your cat to live with. You just want everyone to enjoy life together again, but it can be hard to know how to help your cat when they are worried by something. Often their instinct is to just hide away or quickly lash out. With my ‘Cat Behaviour Support’ option you will understand your cat’s unwanted behaviour better and put in place measures to change them.

A stress-free future for you and your cat

Alex and Anthony with Luna and Rufus

Luna and Rufus were rescued together from Dubai. They were firm friends, always spending time in each other’s company until a neighbourhood cat startled them through the window resulting in Rufus attacking Luna. Not surprisingly, after this their relationship completely broke down. Luna became afraid of Rufus as he would chase and attack her given the opportunity. Alex and Anthony were very upset and thought their beautiful cats would never be able to live together again.

They did not give up! With the support of my ‘Cat Behaviour Support’ option, they worked really hard. It took time and a lot of patience, but this is where they are now. ‘I thought I would give you a quick update. Rufus and Luna are together most of the day and evening supervised, and just play non-stop. It’s a huge change and just wanted to say thank you so much for helping us overcome those early hurdles so we could get to this place today.’

Luna and Rufus are a credit to the huge effort their humans made. It was all worth it as you can see them re-united in the photo.

FAQs

Got a question you don’t see here? Send me an email. Please include your phone number.

  • It is a requirement for membership of my professional bodies that I only undertake behaviour work on veterinary referral. This is because behaviour problems can arise from currently undiagnosed or previous medical problems. It may surprise you to learn that up to 80% of dog and cat behaviour cases involve pain (Mills et al., 2020). Therefore, before starting behaviour modification work it is important for your vet to first rule out / treat any underlying causes of the problem.

  • Don’t worry. That is not unusual, and all unwanted behaviours can be addressed. You may just need to book additional follow up sessions so we can work through everything.

  • As each cat is an individual, it is possible that you would need to book a Cat Behaviour Support programme for each cat. Please get in touch to work out the best approach for you.

  • Ideally they would be present, but if your cat is out and about I can still show you what to do.

  • Yes, remote consultations can work very well for cats. Luna and Rufus are one example of a successful remote Cat Behaviour Support outcome.
